Join our Board of Directors!
Are you committed to justice and equity for migrant workers? The Centre for Migrant Worker Rights Nova Scotia (CMWR NS) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide our governance, growth, and sustainability as we work to ensure fair and dignified treatment for migrant workers across the province.
Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per month for a two-year renewable term.
We are particularly looking for people with expertise in the following areas:
Organizational governance
Finances, including bookkeeping, accounting and budgeting
Resource development, including fundraising, grantwriting, and partnerships
Legal training and experience
Human resources, including volunteer management
CMWR NS strives to build a diverse and inclusive Board that reflects the communities we serve. We strongly encourage applications from candidates with lived experience of migration, xenophobia, and racism—including but not limited to migrant workers, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), and other equity-deserving groups.
How to Apply: To apply, please email a brief expression of interest outlining your relevant experience, skills, and—if you wish—any lived experience or perspectives you hope to bring to the Board, along with your CV, to migrantworkerrights.ns@gmail.com.
You can review the Board Member role descriptions here. Please indicate if you're interested in a specific Officer position.
Deadline: Wednesday, August 27th. If we have vacancies after this date, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
